John and Tony attended and brought their beer. We meet many old friends and former members up there. There was a good crowd. Some said there were more tents. The weather was hot. It was a fun event and we hope to bring a larger contingent next year.

Broken Hydro

This year’s recipe worked out well and many beers were good. It was unfortunate that it ended up being the same time as our S27 beer event and NCHF no-crap-on-tap event. Next year we need to make sure to separate it from NCHF, perhaps plan the brew in August

Brewery Closings

There was disappointment that S27 Brewery is closing. Brewing with their wort allowed us to try different things without the labor and minimizing risk if experiments failed. Also discussed that Uproar and Level Up closing.

Holiday Party

December 9th @ Clandestine. Homebrew style, any beer style that is SRM 25 or darker.

Tasting evaluations

We took the BJCP score sheets and evaluated 3 mystery beers. We focused on evaluating the qualities of the beers. The styles were not known. Everyone enjoyed the exercise and the discussion that followed once pencils were down. The three beers were: Anchor Steam Liberty Ale, Clandestine’s Hacktoberfest, and AleSmith’s .394 Pale Ale. We look forward to doing this again next meeting.

Upcoming Year discussion

• We discussed having a beer style to brew every two or three of the months.
• Each member specifying two beers they would like to brew during the next year.
• Enter some competitions.

Next meeting will most likely be at Wagon Wheel in Mountain View. We will pick the first beer style to brew for an upcoming 2024 meeting. We will also do another round of Tasting evaluations.
