Discussion – Meeting Location
A spirited discussion was held among all members attending the meeting regarding the location(s) of future meetings. Given the current state of the pandemic and its associated restrictions, the ramifications of that topic were included as part of the discussion.
It was agreed that as long as WoW can guarantee a minimum of 10 in-person attendees, the November meeting will be held at the indoor room at Faultline Brewing. Attendees present at the October meeting demonstrated by a show of hands that at least 10 people will attend the November meeting in person.
A motion was proposed and seconded that attendees for future meetings must satisfy at least one of the following criteria:
- Be fully vaccinated,
- Have fully recovered from COVID, or
- Have a negative COVID test result within 72 hours of the November meeting.
The motion was voted on by the attendees and passed by more than 75%.
A motion was proposed and seconded that attendees for the November meeting must have proof of vaccination (COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card), recovery from COVID infection (doctor’s note), or negative COVID test result (date and time stamped).
The motion was voted on by the attendees and passed by more than 75%.
A motion was proposed and seconded that attendees for the November meeting only must show proof to a yet to be determined WoW Officer prior to the commencement of the meeting. WoW will not record or maintain record of this proof.
The motion was voted on by the attendees and passed by more than 75%.
The decision regarding the December meeting was deferred in favor of a discussion about the WoW holiday party. Clandestine Brewing (represented by Rob Conticello) kindly offered to host the event in the back room of the brewery on a yet to be determined Saturday in December. The attending members enthusiastically supported the idea.
It was informally agreed that future meeting locations would be determined ad hoc until there is a better understanding of potential holiday / winter COVID surges.
Style of the Month – Oktoberfest
An excellent presentation, along with a number of tasty samples of the style, was given by Scott Satterthwaite. The presentation generated more spirited discussion, and a lot of sub-topics were explored in depth. The slides should be made available on the WoW website in the near future.
Education – Pseudo Lagers
Deferred.
Other
No other business was discussed.
